1972 Onwards
During the Spring of 1965, negotiations commenced between Mgr Collins, the bishop of Northampton and the bishop of Peterborough for the Catholic community to acquire the Jesus Church. The solemn opening Mass was celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Charles Grant in the presence of Rt Rev Cyril Easthaugh on February 2nd 1972.

The statue of Our Lady and the Altar were donated by Professor G.B. Harrison in memory of his son Michael who died on September 1 st. 1968.
The last Mass at Apethorpe Hall was said in December, 1982. It was subsequently sold, and has suffered serious neglect to date so much so that Northampton Council has put a compulsory order on it.
